My interest in model railroading and railroads started with building models and attending NMRA activities with my Father on the NMRA North Central Region. I am life member and continue to support the NMRA because it is the organization for our hobby not only providing standards, recommended practices, publications, contests and achievement awards but more importantly the social and educational activities we enjoy. We moved to Carmel, IN to be near family in 2017 and I have been active in local model railroad activities. I was elected to NMRA MWR Director-At-Large in 2017 an am currently the Education Coordinator and the Clinic Clearing House leader for the Midwest Region. I previously served as the Northern Division Superintendent and was on the Sunshine Region Board. I am also a Trainmaster for the Central Indiana Division and currently leading monthly “Track Talk” Zoom gatherings increasing member contacts. I have presented a variety of clinics for many years most recently on layout wiring, moving my sectional layout and railroad signaling. My modeling started in HO and I have been modeling in O scale two rail since 1971. My sectional layout is now in the 6th different homes due to work relocations. The prior layout sections are up and connected with rewiring well along for DCC and CMRI signal system equipment. Additional new layout sections have been framed, track supports are up and track is being installed. I enjoy the fellowship through model railroading and especially the NMRA. It has been a great asset to me meeting new friends on the CID and MWR as well as learning new skills and getting help with problems related to many different modeling projects. I am working on the NMRA Achievement Program and have completed Author, Scenery, Official, Volunteer and Electrical Certificates. My professional experience is primarily in the engineering department of Chessie System Railroads and later CSX until I retired in 2008. I have also served on industry boards of directors, chaired committees as well as officer positions for church and neighborhood organizations. I enjoy working with others to improve organizations and operations.
