My interest in model railroading and railroads started with building models and attending National Model Railroad Association activities with my Father in the NMRA North Central Region. I am a life member and continue to support the NMRA because it is the organization for our hobby not only providing standards, recommended practices, publications, contests and achievement awards but more importantly the social and educational activities we enjoy.

We moved to Carmel, IN to be near family in 2017 and I have been active in local model railroad activities. I am involved in the Midwest Region and the Central Indiana Division. I previously served as the Northern Division Superintendent and was on the Sunshine Region Board.

I have presented a variety of clinics for many years most recently on layout wiring, moving my sectional layout, polymeric sand and railroad signaling.

My modeling started in HO and I have been modeling in O scale two rail since 1971. My sectional layout is now in the seventh different home after moving from the second garage to the fifth basement.  The prior layout sections are up and connected with some additional sections.  They have been rewired DCC and CMRI signal system equipment.  I enjoy the fellowship through model railroading and especially OSC and the NMRA. It has been a great asset to me meeting new friends on the CID and MWR as well as learning new skills and getting help with problems related to many different modeling projects. I am working on the NMRA Achievement Program and have completed Author, Scenery, Official, Volunteer, Electrical and Civil Engineering.

My professional experience is primarily in the engineering department of Chessie System Railroads and later CSX until I retired in 2008. I have also served on industry boards of directors, chaired committees as well as officer positions for church and neighborhood organizations. I enjoy working with others to improve organizations and operations.

I am involved with the OSC website and other projects.
